Clearly the fact that I have managed to stay employed for 4 calendar years trumps the other options. I like to live life one day at a time and try not to look back on the past, but the past four years truly does rival my four years in college. If you had told me on graduation day that I would actually party more aggressively and embarrass myself more in the 4 years after college than during, I would have probably thrown up.
Let's take a look back at some of the highlights from the past 4 years...
1) 2nd night of work (two weeks after graduation), I black out after a work scavenger hunt at Bar None in the East Village and go on to get lost in Hoboken, NJ after taking the path back from the city. For whatever reason, I called home and tried to convince my parents that they "moved the train station." I paid a random person $10 to drive me back to the path after venturing into the middle of Hoboken then passed out on the train and my dad picked me up 2 stops too many.
2) After a long night out with co-workers, I felt pretty awful the following morning. My dad had always reminded me never to leave my wallet in the car and that lesson suddenly kicked in that day. I noticed my dad's wallet in the passenger seat so I picked it up and decided to bring it in the house before I drove to the train station. I felt pretty awful so I only made it as far as my mom's Eurovan, which was parked in the garage. I placed my dad's wallet on the bumper and went on my way. Fast forward 30 minutes, and I get a phone call from my mother. "WHERE IS YOUR FATHER'S WALLET?" My response, "Where are you?" She had already driven him to the train station when he realized that he was without his wallet. I told her to check the bumper. THANK GOD, his wallet made the 2-3 mile trip to the train station despite road construction. I've never felt such a relief in all my life.
Part 2 tomorrow...
Running at the Front of the Pack,
