Today is a Great Day to Get Better!

Today is a Great Day to Get Better!

Does anyone else say that to themselves when they wake up in the morning? Regardless, I feel great about today's prospects. It is Thirsty Thursday which either means I Crush the bar scene or load up on extra Protein. I also find myself working harder than ever after watching Obama's passionate State of the Union address last night; albeit, I'm a little upset he did not mention LOST, not even once.

Training Update:

We finally picked out 'Legs' for the 178 mile relay race and I will be the 6th runner. My total mileage is 17.1 miles and I feel great about it. 'The Program' is already paying off as I am seeing results only 10 days later. Prime Example, I have an extra couple miles per hour on my throws in competitive dodgeball. Just ask the kid who I pegged directly in the face. I have also begun to frequent the new salad shop called Chop'T which I hope will replace Chipotle for at least the next few months.

Training Tip-of-the-Day:

10. Make time for a quickie "If 15 minutes is all the time I have, I still run. Fifteen minutes of running is better than not running at all." —Dr. Duncan Macdonald, former U.S. record holder at 5000 (set when he was in medical school)

- This speaks volumes about the proper mindset while on 'The Program'. I now run to and from Rite Aid across the street when picking up Milk, Ellios, and Air Freshners each week.
